Dear Byron-Bergen students and families,
I know there has been a lot of news and discussion regarding
the opening of schools in the fall. I want to keep our community updated as we
plan to bring students back to campus. This week, the New York State Board of
Regents and the New York State Department of Health released guidelines and
regulations for school reopenings.
Today, I met with a group of teachers, counselors, and
administrators to review the guidelines and begin to shape what school might
look like in the fall. I will continue to gather small groups of community
members and district stakeholders leading up to our end-of-month deadline to
submit our plan to the NYSED.
I do not have all the answers but I promise that we are
working diligently to reimagine instruction and provide the most effective
education for all of our students. I will continue to communicate information
as it becomes available.
I urge everyone to please continue taking precautions,
social distancing, wearing face coverings, and taking care of yourselves.
Best wishes,
Mickey Edwards
Byron-Bergen Central School District Superintendent
