3rd grade students reap fruits of their labor

In the fall, the third grade classes took on the responsibility of managing the elementary school's composting program. Yesterday, they saw the rewards. Third grade students met for a special assembly where they each received a certificate of appreciation and a scoop of the soil that they helped produce in which they each planted a flower seed.

The third grade students in turn thanked the students and staff members who helped facilitate the program including the custodial staff, food service staff, student council, and Mrs. Wahl who brought the idea to BB.

Some of the students favorite parts of the composting program were "dumping the compost", "drying the buckets", and "everything".

Great work, everyone!
