Poetry March Madness
Mrs. Golino-Smith's 7th grade students prepared for Spring Break by participating in a March Madness of Poetry- Poet vs. Poet! Each student filled out a bracket in hopes of having the winning poem and every Monday throughout March they compared poems based on meaning, mood, form, and figurative language. The students read poems, annotated, rated, and voted for their favorite each round. The poem "Dreams" by Langston Hughes was our chosen winner of the poetry tournament and the
three students with winning brackets received prizes!
