On Saturday, September 16, 2023 the Byron-Bergen Cross Country team hosted the Kota Reis Cross Country Invitational Tournament.
“Matthew and Emily loved this sport," said Athletic Director Richard Hannan. "We run today as a tribute to our fellow Byron-Bergen Bees."
It has been 15 years since the passing of Matthew Kota and Emily Reis and the Kota/Reis Memorial Invitational cross country meet has grown to include teams from 25 different school districts.
