Welcome New High School Counselors

Join us in welcoming new Jr./Sr. High School Counselors, Delaney Normile and Jonathon DiCrasto.

Ms. Normile is filling the permanent counseling position. In this new role, she is looking forward to having the opportunities to connect with students and their families. She is also looking forward to working with the celebrated team at Byron-Bergen.

As a school counselor, Ms. Normile’s primary role is to help support students in a way that promotes success, in the hopes that the skills learned at school will build a strong foundation to support them after high school.  Each student may have different needs, so this will look different from student to student, but typically, school counselors target three domains- social-emotional learning, academic success, and college and career readiness. Counselors interact with students in individual and group sessions, through delivering classroom instructions, and with parents, other faculty and staff, and administration in meetings or via facilitating conversations.

Ms. Normile holds a BA from Nazareth University and a Master’s Degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in School Counseling from SUNY Oswego. Before becoming a School Counselor, she worked as Pre-K Teaching Assistant, a Test Administrator for PeasonVUE, and a Props Manager for a Middle School production of SpongeBob: The Musical. Outside of work, she enjoys a variety of activities noting that she isn’t particular about what activity she is doing as long as she is with her friends and family.

Mr. DiCrasto joins BB as the High School Counseling long-term substitute. Mr. DiCrasto is looking forward to helping the students achieve their academic, social-emotional, and college/career goals. His key responsibilities include helping students to develop goals and equipping them with the tools and skills to achieve those goals.

Mr. DiCrasto has a Bachelor in Psychology from SUNY Brockport and a Master of Education from Liberty University in Virginia. Prior to joining BB I was employed through Wayne County Community Schools as a School Counselor at Clyde-Savannah CSD. He iss an avid scuba diver, hiker, and connoisseur of yard games.
