Each Monday in March, Mrs. Golino's 7th-grade students have been engaged in poetry. "Poet vs. Poet" is a March Madness-style competition where students read, analyzed, and vote on poems. After weeks of exciting matchups, Still I Rise by Maya Angelou emerged as the winning poem this year with four students successfully predicting the final outcome with their brackets. April is National Poetry Month so students are continuing the competitive verses with a Junior High version of Poetry Out Loud. Students are memorizing and reciting lines of poetry in class, showcasing their understanding and appreciation of poetic expression. Great work, Bees!
