I know there has been a lot of news and discussion regarding the opening of schools in the fall. I want to keep our community updated as we plan to bring students back to campus. This week, the New York State Board of Regents and the New York State Department of Health released guidelines and regulations for school reopenings.

Dear Byron-Bergen students and families, I hope this message finds everyone well and enjoying summer. I’m sure many of you heard Wednesday’s announcement from Governor Cuomo regarding schools reopening. On Monday, July 13th, the New York State Board of Regents will provide schools with reopening guidelines. Schools will then have until July 31st to submit reopening plans outlining how they will meet the guidelines and, in the first week of August, the Governor will announce if and how schools will reopen this fall.

Dear Byron-Bergen students and families,This Memorial Day, I want to share a message of gratitude. This is a day in which we honor those who lost their lives protecting our country. In addition to those who served in our military forces, this year I would also like to acknowledge the health care workers and emergency responders lost on the front line of the pandemic. As a former U.S. Marine, I would like to thank them for their service to our country.
