SEL Assembly
assembly
On Tuesday, November 22, elementary school students learned how to to "stay sweet" from a sour grape.  The November Social Emotional Learning assembly at the Elementary School focused on manners and keeping a good attitude. The assembly was led by Social Emotional Learning Coordinator Megan Wahl who reviewed manners with the students and presented The Sour Grape by Jory John and Pete Oswald. The story opened conversation with the students about how to process emotions and reactions when things don't go as planned. Students discussed listening and communicating instead of walking away.

The assembly concluded with each student filling out a round piece of paper with something for which they are thankful. These "grapes" will be assembled into a new bulletin display for the school community to enjoy.
