FFA competes at NYS Fair
FFA members at Fair
Congratulations for the members of the Byron-Bergen FFA who competed at the New York State Fair.
 
Kasey Pagels and Brook Pagels both competed in the poultry production contest.  They judged a class of live chickens, presented reasons, judged eggs, poultry products and identified cuts of chicken.
 
Carter Kuipers and GJ Donofrio competed in the small engine contest.  They earned 1st place as a team.  Carter placed 1st place individually and GJ Donofrio placed 6th.  The contest included parts and tool identification and participants were required to trouble a small engine and get it running again.  They also took a test on small engine theory.
 
Justin Deleo and Jackson Lundfelt both competed in Agricultural electrification.  They earned 1st place as a team.  Justin placed first with Jackson placing second.  They identified electrical tools and parts, tested electrical devices with a multimeter and wired a circuit following a provided schematic drawing.  They also were tested about electrical theory.
 
Justin Deleo place 4th individually in the junior division of dairy cattle judging.
