Coordinator of Student Services
Kaercher
Byron-Bergen Central School District has created the new position of Coordinator of Student Services. The position is designed to provide administrative support at the Elementary School in the areas of student discipline and curriculum development. This position will also support special education and early intervention services by serving as a CSE and CPSE Chairperson.

“We identified an area to strengthen in our elementary school and are very pleased to have support from the Board of Education in the creation of this new position,” said Director of Instructional Services Betsy Brown. “We are also fortunate that, among a strong candidate pool, we were able to identify an individual to bring experience and passion to the position.”

On June 15, the Board of Education approved the nomination of Kaitlin Kaercher to the position. Kaercher has worked at Byron-Bergen since 2016 as an elementary teacher for grades 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6. During the 2021-22 school year, she served as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) as the ELA Content Specialist and RTI Coordinator. She also coordinated the 2021 Summer Learning Program.

“I am thrilled that this is the next step in my career,” said Kaercher. “I get to do what I love, which is to support our students and help them to be successful while they are here at Byron-Bergen. I am excited to continue serving the students and families in our elementary school and working closely with our incredibly committed and talented faculty and staff.”

Kaercher holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Communications from SUNY Brockport and a Masters in Childhood Education from The College of Saint Rose in Albany. She is currently working toward a CAS in School Administration from SUNY Brockport. Prior to 2016, Kaercher worked as a teacher in Brooklyn, NY, and as a staff writer and researcher for the New York State Senate and Assembly. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and is a life-long Buffalo Bills fan.
