Byron-Bergen Elementary School Principal Kristin Loftus and Coordinator of Student Services Katie Kaercher invited families to drop off school supplies and set up lockers on August 29th and 30th. After finding their classroom and putting away their supplies, students and siblings enjoyed a popsicle to celebrate the end of summer and the start of a new school year.
Families were also invited to fill their supply lists from the donations provided by the Bergen Business and Civic Association (BBCA).
“The BBCA provided a very generous collection of school supplies again this year,” said Loftus. “Our school is very grateful for their commitment to the community and ensuring our students have the right tools to start the year.”
The Bergen Business and Civic Association, founded in 1896, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the growth and enrichment of local businesses and residents within the community. All of the donated school supplies will be distributed directly to families or to Byron-Bergen Elementary School teachers for use in their classroom.
