On Saturday, September 14, 2024, the Byron-Bergen Cross Country team hosted the Kota-Reis Cross Country Invitational Tournament.

“Our Cross Country Community here at B-B is so passionate.  Mathew and Emily are a huge part of our XC Family and we want to thank their Families for their endless support of this event," said Athletic Director Richard Hannan. "This is a wonderful tribute to their memories and I am so proud of what this event has become." 

It has been 16 years since the passing of Matthew Kota and Emily Reis and the Kota-Reis Memorial Invitational cross country meet has grown to include teams from 25 different school districts.
