On Thursday, December 19, the 7th & 8th Grade Band and Chorus closed out the winter concert series with a bang. The 7th & 8th Grade Chorus, directed by Mr. Joe Paris and accompanied by Mr. Charles Palella, began with “What You Gonna Call Your Pretty Little Baby” by Victor C. Johnson and “Enezo Upendo” by Jim Papoulis featuring Colin Starowitz and Teagan Williams on percussion. The chorus kept everyone in a holiday mood with “This Christmas” by PinkZebra and closed out with a reflective moment by performing Michael Jackson’s pop hit “Man in the Mirror” by Glen Ballard and Siedah Garrett, arranged by Ed Lojeski and featuring a vocal solo by Teagan Williams and electric bass accompaniment by chorus alumnus Solomon Smith.
The 7th & 8th Grade Band then took to the stage under direction of Mr. Kevin Bleiler with “Delta Force” by P. Cook, “Ancient Echoes” and E. Huckeby, and a challenging calypso twist on a holiday classic, “Frosty’s Caribbean Holiday”
Congratulations to all of the student musicians and thank you to everyone who made the 2024 Winter Concert Series successful!
