On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, New York Times best-selling author Peter Lerangis visited Byron-Bergen Elementary School. His visit included an immensely entertaining presentation to the students, a book signing, and a special lunch with the sixth grade PageTurners team.

Lerangis is the author of 175 books and has sold over 6 million copies. He shared with the students his life-long love of storytelling and his journey to becoming an author. He overcame self-doubt to earn international recognition and an exclusive state visit to Russia with renowned authors R.L. Stein and Marc Brown.

In encouraging the students to follow their dreams, Lerangis said, “When someone tries to do anything for the first time, they’re going to be bad. You have to be brave enough to be bad. Being bad is the first step to being good.”
