The fifth grade’s recent visit to RIT yielded some pretty exciting results. Students learned about different majors, extracurricular activities, sports, and other opportunities available at RIT and other colleges.
During the campus tour, students saw an enormous 3D printer
that prints furniture and a towering wall of ferns and other plants which
provides fresh air to an entire building. Students were also able to take part
in hands-on activities including building circuits using natural electrolytes
in fruits and vegetables and creating structures out of sticks capable of
supporting bricks.
After the visit, one student commented, “I never wanted to go to college until today. Now, I definitely want to go.”
