On October 9, the Bergen Fire Department, Byron Fire Department, and South Byron Fire Department visited the Elementary School to teach about fire safety. Students learned what a fire fighter looks like in their gear, what tools they use, what trucks and ambulances they drive, what to do in a fire, and how to stay calm while calling 911. The gym classes joined in the fun, too, with fire safety-themed activity stations and a healthy snack.
