On Friday, June 7, 2019, Karvell the magician visited the Byron-Bergen fourth grade. Karvell has been performing magic for over 50 years. It started as a hobby, and grew into a career. 

 

As a child, Karvell used magic as a distraction from a homelife marred by substance abuse. He now uses magic as a unique way to share a powerful message - there's no magic in drugs.

 

"The magic holds their interest while I reinforce the message," said Karvell. "My hope is that someone in the audience will get the message and their life will be different."
