At the annual Opening Day ceremony on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, the Byron-Bergen Central School District Board of Education honored the buildings and grounds staff with a resolution of appreciation.
"I'm so proud of my team," said Director of Facilities Roger Caldwell. "They really earned this honor with their unwavering hard work and dedication through the ongoing Capital Project. I couldn't ask for a better team."

WHEREAS, the Byron-Bergen Central School
District mission is to inspire, prepare, and support using the values of
compassion, humility, kindness, and persistence with the vision to change the
world one student at a time; and
WHEREAS, our Buildings and Grounds
Department comprised of Groundskeepers, Custodians, Cleaners, Building
Maintenance Workers, Senior Building Maintenance Mechanic, and our Director of
Facilities, work diligently on a daily basis to keep the Byron-Bergen campus and
grounds a clean and safe environment for our staff and students; and
WHEREAS, the Buildings and Grounds
Department assist in readying our buildings and campus for the many community
events that take place at our facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Buildings and Grounds
Department has worked extra hard during our recent Capital Project to make the numerous
improvements possible, in addition to their many day-to-day duties; and
WHEREAS, the daily dedication and “going above and beyond” of our Buildings and Grounds staff creates a welcoming environment for staff, students, our community, and many visitors; and
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of
Education sincerely appreciates the efforts of the Byron-Bergen Buildings and
Grounds Department for their commitment and hard work in keeping our campus
running smoothly for our staff, students, and learning community.
